In January 2014, I became caregiver to my best friend and ultra-running partner after she was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Marcy Servita was an amazing mountain runner and athlete. The prior September she completed her first 100-mile race at Marin Headlands in 26 hours 24 minutes. Sadly, most of the time this cancer is discovered too late as was true of Marcy. She died March 16, 2014.

Elevating a Cure is my project to raise $1 per foot of elevation gain (21,986 feet!) at my first attempt completing the 100-Mile distance. On September 27, 2014, I completed the 100-mile race in 34 hours, 2 minutes. In November 2014, I climbed another 21,986 feet to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network during Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month. In 2015, I will continue running up, Elevating a Cure. While there is currently no cure nor early diagnostic, there is HOPE!

How can you help?
